WHAT ARE YA’LL SMOKING?
9 Holes. Zero Sanity. A golf tournament in the snow—in the coldest town in the lower 48. Grab your craziest friend and join us for our first-ever Frozen Balls Classic benefiting Stella’s Shelter Fund and Alpine Collective.
WHEN/WHERE?
Saturday, February 28th 2026 1pm-6pm with the party continuing well into the night at the Historic Rod and Gun Saloon in Stanley, Idaho.
“Tee times” beginning at 2pm on a first come, first served basis with the Championship Shootout beginning around 5:30. We may adjust start/finish time depending on the amount of entries and will keep registrants informed!
THE FORMAT:
6 outdoor pitch-and-putt holes, possibly in a blizzard, shadowed by the majestic Sawtooth Mountains. 3 cozy mini-golf holes inside the historic Rod and Gun. A few twists and turns in between :-) Best Ball format (Play your own ball, lowest score for your team is the score that counts for that hole). Oversized Clubs and Balls will be provided—No golfing ability required!
Top teams qualify for an alternate-shot shootout to determine the overall champion!

We’ll also have a massive raffle for some great prizes donated by our friends and sponsors. Your entry fee includes 2 raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase and spectators are encouraged to participate!

Ya’ll be asking questions:
We may not be able to make it at 1pm, is that ok? YEP! The course will be “open for play” at 2pm but you can start at 4pm if you want. We anticipate a full round taking 45 minutes including distractions :-). For those that play early, hang out, hit a hot spring, do what ya wanna, but you don’t want to miss the shootout later in the day!
Will there be food available? YEP! We’ll have classic hot dogs and snacks at our “halfway house” out on the course and we’re working with the fine folks at Papa Brunee’s on a pizza party afterwards.
What kind of clubs do I need to bring? NONE! We have all of the oversized clubs/balls for bucket golf outside as well as putters and balls for mini-golf inside. If you have a lucky putter that you sleep with A) consider therapy and B) you can bring it.
Do ya’ll really know what you’re doing? NO! This is our first year giving this a go and we’re sure we’ll find some kinks to work out for next year. That said, if you know this bar, you know we’re gonna make sure you have a damn good time.

Cheer on your friends with hot cocktails and cold beer from The Rod and Gun. Buy raffle tickets and play additional games to raise money for Stella’s Shelter Fund and Alpine Collective. Dance yer butt off to good tunes and good times. The best beach party in Stanley, Idaho.
